Kill Mosquitoes Before They’re Old Enough To Bite!®

Don't let mosquitoes breed in your rain barrel. Treat your Aquabarrel™ rain barrel with Mosquito Bits®or Mosquito Dunks®. These EPA-approved, all-natural products kill baby mosquitoes in the water, before they’re old enough to bite. Mosquito Bits® and Mosquito Dunks® release “B.t.i” (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis bacteria) into the water. B.t.i. is harmless to people, fish, birds, pets, and other animals, but deadly—and delicious—to baby mosquitoes (larvae).

Each plastic jar contains 8 ounces of Mosquito Bits.Mosquito Bits®, when wet, release a biological larvicide that is eaten by the baby mosquitoes (larvae). Mosquito larvae that eat the larvicide are dead within 24 hours. Aquabarrel® suggests that when larvae are present in a water source, use Mosquito Bits®. Think of using this product like you would to "shock" a swimming pool. Larvae will be dead in less than 48 hours. Mosquito Dunks® and Bits also prevent mosquito infestations (the source of West Nile and Eastern equine encephalitis) from developing in other sources of standing water, such as compost piles, rain gardens, bird baths, flower pots, tree holes, water gardens, roof gutters, and animal watering troughs.
